Let’s get down to basics:
Why should you vote for Nelda Luce Blair?

Because we need unity, not division.
One of the first marketing tags for The Woodlands touted it as a place to “Live, Work & Play”. To me, that expresses the beauty of our community in a nutshell. We are residents first, and we want our neighborhoods to maintain the qualities that brought us here in the first place. We are also employees, businesspeople, entrepreneurs and enterprises, and we want prosperity to result from our hard work. We are families and friends, neighbors and parents, and we want a variety of recreation and amenities in a safe place.

In my view, the point of The Woodlands is not “Residents vs. Businesses”; it is not “Township vs. Associations”; it is that a large portion of residents also work here (like me); it is that most of us are a part of all of it.

Whether we have given support in our religious congregations, in village groups, with our schools or the college, on professional boards or in other volunteer activities, we want balance and harmony between all the parts of our community. That is what makes The Woodlands so unique and successful in the first place: the harmony of nature and people, living and working (and of course, playing.)

I am passionate about the exciting future of our beautiful neighborhoods, our tree-lined streets and pathways, and our stunning office/dining/shopping/learning/leisure centers. And, I want The Woodlands Township to have a place at the table of regional government and statewide interests, while maintaining the important role of its local village leadership.

My vision for our community is to continue to prosper, with preservation and enhancement of the quality of life we enjoy. With last November’s propositions, we as residents clearly expressed our desire: that we want a unified government for our community, protected from annexation by Houston. As the current Chairman of The Woodlands Township, I know that teamwork, dedication and cooperation are vital to this transition from our community homeowner associations to community-wide elected government, and on to becoming a city if we so choose. We need “all hands on deck”, with everyone working in unity. Together, I truly believe we can make The Woodlands of the future an even greater place for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Because my educational background has prepared me for our community’s governance transition.
Please review my Resume’. It details my extensive understanding of the legalities governing communities, my financial training, and my studies in human nature. With this background, I believe I can provide positive leadership and encouragement.

Because my practical experience and long-standing affiliations will prove invaluable during the evolution of The Woodlands in the Houston region.
I ask that you take a look at my Community and Leadership involvements. My outlook and experience is well-rounded. As a result, I have an inherent understanding of both people and governance on many levels, and have long-standing relationships throughout the State and Nation. I believe that these are valuable resources for a local leader.

Thank you for your interest, and I ask for your vote on May 10th.
